  1. Good morning Phillip! I would love to see Claire’s Day, a children’s book festival staged annually since 2002 on your list. Created in honor of our late daughter, the organization stages a variety of literary events throughout the year, with the culmination being the book festival. Children’s book authors and illustrators from throughout the Midwest (and beyond) join us on the third Saturday in May for presentations, demonstrations and related hands on activities. A highlight of the day is the C.A.R.E. (Claire’s Awards for Reading Excellence) given to children in grades 1-8 nominated by their teachers/reading specialists as being the most improved readers in their school. This past year we bestowed the award and free book to 734 students in Claire’s memory. Thank you for your consideration.
