Claire’s Day is an annual children’s book festival, founded in 2002, that takes place each May in Maumee, Ohio (near Toledo).
Created to honor the memory of Claire Lynsey Rubini, a 10-year-old girl who passed away from a heart condition in 2000, the Claire’s Day organization stages a variety of literary events throughout the year, with the book festival as the annual highlight.
Children’s book authors and illustrators from around the Midwest offer presentations, demonstrations and related hands-on activities on the third Saturday in May.
